Ambre de la Chaudiere (Biere De Garde-style ale) - 7 % alc/vol.
This is a northern French style of farmhouse ale traditionally made in the winter months and then laid-down in a cellar (thus the “Biere De Garde” appellation) for drinking throughout the year. Ours is a traditional amber beauty presented unfiltered with the yeast still in it to add to the slightly fruity/spicy aroma and creaminess of palate. Brewed with a blend of North American and European malt and hops, Ambre de la Chaudiere is a true reflection of our Canadian immigrant culture. Named after the famous Chaudiere Falls beside our brewery, this beer pays homage to a time gone by when honest craftsmanship and simplicity were truly valued. . Sante!
Portage Ale - 5% alc/vol..
An “old school” Cream Ale brewed in the style of several beers made by breweries from the Lebreton Flats in the 1800 and 1900’s. Made with Canadian pale malt and a blend of European and American hops, this beer is an easy-drinking, crisp and thirst-quenching ale with a deep golden colour and bright white head. It is fermented twice, once with ale yeast to produce a creamy, robust palate and then put through a secondary fermentation with lager yeast to develop a smooth and mellow character that is truly unique to this classic North American beer style. Cheers!
Valley Irish Red - 4.8% alc/vol..
A very traditional Irish-style Red Ale brewed with pale, biscuit, chocolate and caramel malts to give this beer a round and mellow palate and remarkable drinkability. We use British and American hops in this brew to balance the malt palate and then finish the beer by adding a kiss of Lanark County maple syrup to complete the smooth and smoky-caramel tones of this beautiful Irish-style ale. Charged with a blend of carbon-dioxide and nitrogen, this beer pours with a classic pub-pint “cascade” and forms a tenacious head that makes it too cool for school! Slainte!
